What type of positions do you typically handle?

The Advanced client base is quite diverse. We handle just about any position within an office environment, from clerical support through mid-level management positions from our temporary/consulting division, and our direct hire division. Our specialties include: Administrative Staff, Human Resources, Legal Support Staff, Office Management, Manufacturing Management, Finance and Accounting, and Marketing Opportunities.

What geographical area do you cover?

Our clients are primarily located in Fairfield and New Haven Counties of Connecticut. We also have clients in the Hartford area, as well as New York City.

All fees are paid by our client companies. There is no cost to you as a candidate.

How do I get started?

The first step in the process is to send your resume to us via Fax, Email, or Mail. Your information is then entered into our searchable database so that it is at the fingertips of our Certified Personnel Consultants to review.

How do I apply for a specific position?

Go to our Job Opportunities section and click the email link for the job in which you are interested. Be sure to attach your resume in text or Microsoft Word format. Include a brief paragraph about yourself and how we can contact you.

What happens after I send in my resume?

You will be contacted by a Consultant or one of our Research Assistants, by E-Mail, or by postcard within five (5) business days. If you are not contacted, please call us!

We will call you as soon as an opportunity appropriate to your background and needs becomes available.

Should I send my resume more than once?

There is no need to submit your resume more than once, unless you would like to update your file with Advanced.

Will I need to interview with Advanced Placement?

Yes, interviews are required prior to presenting your resume to a client. At the appointment you will complete our employment application, take a computer skills assessment test, and then interview with one of our Certified Personnel Consultants.

Will I be informed before my resume is forwarded to a company?

Yes. We never send a resume without notifying the candidate first.

Please keep in mind that our goal as consultants is to identify the most highly qualified candidates for the job based on the client's preferences. While you may be qualified, you simply may not be as qualified as others.

Do you offer any training?

Since our main focus is assisting our clients and candidates in finding their perfect match, we do not offer any in-house training, but are able to refer you to experts in your local area who can address your training needs.

How often should I check-in once I have registered?

Typically, if our Consultants have a position for you, they will contact you. However, keeping your name in front of us isn’t a bad idea. Every few weeks, a phone call to our Receptionist will remind all of us that you are still actively searching. If you have a more specialized skill, a monthly reminder would be fine.
